Start with the port on your laptop. Most current laptops charge through USB-C with Power Delivery, so one laptop charger with enough watts can charge different brands. The Nothing CMF Power 140W uses PD 3.1 to deliver 140W from a single USB-C port, enough for power-hungry laptops, and its two USB-C ports can keep two laptops running at once. A 1.5m 5A USB-C cable comes in the box, and the body measures about 67 x 65 x 32 mm.

The Nothing CMF Power 100W gives up to 100W from one USB-C port to fast-charge most USB-C laptops alongside a phone, with a 5A cable in the box, and the Nothing CMF Power 65W charges many USB-C laptops, a phone and earbuds together from two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. All three are GaN chargers, which fit the power into a smaller body that runs cooler than a silicon charger. To charge a MacBook Air from a USB-C adapter, the Apple 60W USB-C Charge Cable carries up to 60W.

Older MacBooks use a magnetic MagSafe plug instead. The Apple 60W MagSafe 1 Power Adapter (A1344) fits the MacBook and the MacBook Pro 13-inch with a MagSafe 1 port, delivers 16.5V at 3.65A, and its LED glows amber while charging and green when the battery is full. The Apple 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter is made for the MacBook Pro with Retina display, and the Apple 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter for the MacBook Air with a MagSafe 2 port. A MagSafe 1 plug does not fit a MagSafe 2 port, so check the port on your MacBook before you order.

A thin laptop often has only USB-C ports, and a hub adds the rest. How much is a laptop charger?

The price depends on the wattage, the number of ports and the brand, from USB-C hubs to the Nothing CMF Power 140W. The current price of each charger and adapter is shown on its product page.

How many watts does my laptop charger need?

At least the wattage printed on your original charger. Thin laptops often use 45W to 65W, and larger performance laptops need more; the Nothing CMF Power 140W covers USB-C laptops that draw up to 140W. A charger with fewer watts charges slowly or cannot keep up under heavy load.

Does a USB-C charger work with HP, Dell and Lenovo laptops?

Yes, if the laptop charges through its USB-C port with Power Delivery, as many current HP, Dell and Lenovo laptops do. In that case a GaN charger such as the Nothing CMF Power 100W works with the cable in its box. A laptop with a round barrel plug needs a charger made for that plug.

Which charger fits my MacBook?

A MacBook with USB-C charges from a USB-C Power Delivery charger such as the Nothing CMF Power 65W, 100W or 140W, with a USB-C cable such as the Apple 60W USB-C Charge Cable for the MacBook Air. Older MacBook and MacBook Pro 13-inch models with MagSafe 1 use the Apple 60W MagSafe 1 Power Adapter, and the MacBook Pro with Retina display uses the Apple 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter.

What is a GaN charger?

A charger built with gallium nitride parts instead of silicon. GaN handles heat better, so the same wattage fits into a smaller and lighter body. The Nothing CMF Power 65W, 100W and 140W are GaN chargers with three ports each.

Can one charger charge my laptop and my phone together?

Yes. The Nothing CMF Power 65W charges a laptop, a phone and earbuds at the same time, and the Nothing CMF Power 140W can keep two laptops running. The total power is shared between the ports, so each port gets less when all of them are in use.

Is a higher-watt charger safe for my laptop?

Yes. With USB-C Power Delivery the laptop draws only the power it supports, so a 140W charger is safe for a laptop that needs 65W; it simply charges at the laptop's own speed.

Does the charger come with a cable?

The Nothing CMF Power 140W and the Nothing CMF Power 100W include a 5A USB-C cable. Each product page lists what is in the box.

What is a USB-C hub for?

A hub adds ports that a thin laptop lacks. The Baseus Cube HUB Adapter turns one Type-C port into five USB ports, and the Samsung Multiport Adapter adds USB 3.1, USB-C and HDMI 4K for a monitor.
