Can I start recording without touching the phone?

Yes. With gesture control you stand 0.5 to 4 metres from the camera, face it and hold the gesture for 1 to 2 seconds to start recording or tracking. The FrameTap remote of the Osmo Mobile 8P also starts and stops recording from up to 10 metres away.
