Collection: VR & AR Devices

A standalone VR headset runs games, workouts and films on its own, with no PC or console. The Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S both use the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip with 8GB of RAM and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, with Touch Plus controllers and hand tracking. Their front cameras show your room in full colour, so a game board can sit on your desk or a target can appear on your living-room wall. This is mixed reality, where VR meets AR.

The Meta Quest 3 has sharper displays at 2064 × 2208 pixels per eye and comes with 512GB of storage. The Meta Quest 3S shows 1832 × 1920 pixels per eye, weighs about 514g and comes in 128GB and 256GB versions, with an Action Button that switches between the virtual world and your room. For longer sessions, the Meta Quest Elite Strap with Battery adds up to 2 hours of play and takes pressure off your face and neck.

If you own a PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2 connects to it with a single USB-C cable and adds eye tracking, 3D audio, a 110-degree field of view and PS VR2 Sense controllers with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Apple Vision Pro is Apple's spatial computer, with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options.

Smart glasses such as Ray-Ban Meta are a different product: they have a camera and open-ear speakers but no VR screens, and you find them with our wearable technology. Each headset's product page lists storage, resolution and controllers, so you can compare VR headset prices in Egypt before you order.

How much is a VR headset in Egypt?

The price depends on the headset and its storage, from the Meta Quest 3S with 128GB to the Meta Quest 3 with 512GB and Apple Vision Pro. The current price of each headset is shown on its product page.

What is the difference between Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S?

Display sharpness and storage. The Meta Quest 3 shows 2064 × 2208 pixels per eye and comes with 512GB, while the Meta Quest 3S shows 1832 × 1920 pixels per eye, comes in 128GB and 256GB and adds an Action Button. Both use the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip with 8GB of RAM, Touch Plus controllers and full-colour mixed reality.

Does Meta Quest need a PC or a phone?

No PC is needed. The Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S run games and apps on the headset itself with Horizon OS. You use the Meta Horizon app on your phone to set the headset up.

What is the difference between VR and AR?

VR replaces what you see with a virtual world. AR, or mixed reality on the Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S, uses the front cameras to show your real room in colour and places virtual objects in it, so you can play or work while you still see your furniture.

Does PlayStation VR2 work with a PS4 or a phone?

No. PlayStation VR2 is made for the PlayStation 5 and connects to it with one USB-C cable.

Is a VR box for phones the same as a VR headset?

No. A VR box holds your phone in front of your eyes and uses the phone's screen. The Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S have their own screens, processor, cameras and controllers, so they track your head and hands and run games without a phone.

From what age can children use Meta Quest?

Meta Quest headsets are made for ages 10 and up. Younger children should not use them.

How long does the battery last, and can I extend it?

Battery life depends on the game or app you run. The Meta Quest Elite Strap with Battery adds up to 2 extra hours of play and charges together with the Meta Quest 3 or Quest 3S through one cable.
