How to Choose a Computer Keyboard

In a fast game, the switches decide how quickly a press registers. The Logitech G915 X LIGHTSPEED is a full-size, low-profile wireless gaming keyboard whose GL Linear switches actuate at 1.3mm with 43g of force. The Logitech G517 LIGHTSPEED TKL leaves out the number pad for more mouse room and uses hot-swappable linear switches in a gasket-mounted body, and the Logitech G913 TKL uses GL Tactile switches with up to 40 hours of battery. All three connect over LIGHTSPEED or Bluetooth.

Mechanical keyboards come in every size. The XPG Sorcerer Mini is a 65% wired keyboard with 66 keys, hot-swappable red linear switches and a metal volume knob. The Fantech ATOM PRO83 MK913 is a 75% keyboard with 83 keys that connects by cable, Bluetooth 5.0 or a 2.4GHz receiver, with a 2000mAh battery. The Cougar Attack X3 RGB keeps the full layout with Cherry MX switches rated for at least 50 million keystrokes, and the Meetion MK500 adds clicky blue switches and a detachable palm rest.

For long days of typing, the Logitech MX Mechanical and MX Mechanical Mini use low-profile mechanical switches, light up as your hands approach and switch between up to 3 devices. The Logitech Alto Keys K98M and the A4Tech FS300 keep a number pad in a 98-key body that takes less desk space than a full-size keyboard. On the sofa, the Logitech K400 Plus has a built-in touchpad and a wireless range of up to 10 meters, so you can control a PC connected to the TV.

For an office or home PC, the Logitech K120 is a plain USB keyboard, the Logitech MK120 pairs a wired keyboard and mouse, and the Logitech MK220 combo does the same without cables. For Arabic letters on the keys, choose a model with an Arabic layout, such as the Logitech MX Keys Mini Arabic layout.

Computer Keyboards – Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a computer keyboard in Egypt?

The price depends on the type, from the Logitech K120 USB keyboard and keyboard and mouse combos to wireless mechanical gaming keyboards such as the Logitech G915 X. The current price of each keyboard is shown on its product page.

What is the difference between a mechanical keyboard and a regular keyboard?

A mechanical keyboard has a separate switch under every key, so each press has a defined feel and actuation point, such as 1.3mm on the Logitech G915 X. A regular membrane keyboard such as the Logitech K120 uses one rubber sheet under all keys, which keeps it quiet, light and affordable.

Linear, tactile or clicky: which switch should I choose?

Linear switches move smoothly with no bump, which suits fast games, as on the Logitech G915 X and XPG Sorcerer Mini. Tactile switches give a small bump you feel while typing, as on the Logitech G913 TKL. Clicky switches, such as the blue switches on the Meetion MK500, add a click you can hear, so they suit a room where the sound does not bother anyone.

What do full-size, TKL, 75% and 65% mean?

They describe how many keys the keyboard keeps. A full-size keyboard has a number pad, TKL removes the number pad, a 75% keyboard keeps the function row and arrows in a tighter body, as on the Fantech ATOM PRO83 MK913, and a 65% keyboard also drops the function row, as on the XPG Sorcerer Mini. Smaller sizes leave more room for the mouse.

Is a wireless keyboard good for gaming?

Yes, if it uses a 2.4GHz receiver. The Logitech G915 X, G517 and G913 TKL use LIGHTSPEED wireless for games and Bluetooth for other devices. Bluetooth alone suits typing and work better than fast games.

What does hot-swappable mean?

Hot-swappable means you can pull the switches out and fit different ones without soldering, to change the feel or the sound. The Logitech G517, Logitech Alto Keys K98M, XPG Sorcerer Mini and A4Tech FS300 are hot-swappable.

Do you have keyboards with Arabic letters?

Yes. The Logitech MX Keys Mini Arabic layout, the Logitech K120 Arabic layout and the Logitech MK120 Arabic layout combo come with an Arabic layout. The layout of each keyboard is shown on its product page.

Can one keyboard work with my laptop, tablet and phone?

Yes, if it connects over Bluetooth to several devices. The Logitech MX Mechanical and MX Mechanical Mini switch between up to 3 devices with Easy-Switch keys.

Are the keyboards at Ennap.com original?

Yes. Every keyboard sold at Ennap.com is an original product from its brand, such as Logitech, Fantech or XPG, and the warranty for each model is shown on its product page.
