What Are Mobile Phone Activation Fees in Egypt?
As of January 2025, customs and tax fees are applied to mobile phones imported from abroad. These are officially referred to as “Phone Activation Fees.”
These fees are paid once only, calculated at approximately 38.5% of the device’s value, and must be paid through the official "Telephony" app within 90 days of activating the device in Egypt.

Do All Devices on Your Website Include These Fees?

No. At Ennap.com, we provide two clear options depending on your needs:

- Local Warranty Devices: These devices come with fully paid fees, and you won’t need to pay anything extra after purchase.
- International Devices (without local warranty): These may not have their fees paid, but for some products, we offer a fees-paid version at a discounted price.

Will I Need to Pay Anything Later If I Choose a Fees-Paid Device?
No. If you choose the fees-paid version, the price displayed on the website includes all government fees. No additional payments or steps are required.

What’s the Difference Between a Fees-Paid and a Non-Paid Device?
- Fees-Paid: Ready for immediate use in Egypt. No further actions or payments required.
- Not Paid: Works for 90 days only in Egypt, after which you’ll need to pay the activation fee via the Telephony app to avoid service interruption.

How Do I Know If a Device Has the Fees Paid? The fee status is clearly mentioned on each product page—either in the product description or among the available purchase options.

What Is the Value of the Fees?
The fees vary depending on the device model. You can:

Contact us directly to check the fee for a specific device.
Or visit our Help Center to view the official fee values.

Who Sets the Fee Amount, and Can It Change?Fees are set by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority
Each model has a fixed amount, though the government may update values periodically.

How Do I Pay the Fees If I Choose a Device Without Paid Fees?
Fees are paid through the official “Telephony” app:

Download the app.
Enter the IMEI number of your device.
Pay using a bank card or another available payment method.

What Happens If I Don’t Pay the Fees After 90 Days?
Your device’s cellular services (calls, mobile data, SMS) will be suspended. It will only work again after the fee is paid via the app.

Can I Buy the Device Now and Pay the Fees Later?
Yes, you have a legal grace period of 90 days from the date of activation inside Egypt to pay the fee via the Telephony app.

Frequently asked questions

What does international warranty mean?

The product was imported from outside Egypt through an importer, not through the product's local agent.

Why is the warranty period only 100 days?

Imported devices normally come without a warranty, but we give you 100 days to fully test and try the product.

Why doesn't the product come with a one-year warranty?

The product may not be available through a local agent at all, or not at the moment, so it is supplied from abroad with our 100-day warranty to give you peace of mind and the best experience.

When does the warranty start and how is it activated?

The warranty starts on the purchase date and we activate it automatically from that date.

What if the product is damaged by misuse, such as a broken screen, and what about spare parts?

We have a full maintenance department for all products and provide most spare parts for products sold with an international warranty. You can submit a maintenance request here. You can also service the product through the product's agent or other service centers if they have the spare parts.

Product FAQs

What is the difference between the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB versions?
The 8GB + 256GB option is the version made for India. It has a larger 6,000mAh battery instead of 5,200mAh, but it does not support NFC, so contactless payments with Google Wallet are not available, and it supports fewer 5G bands. Choose the version you need from the product options before ordering.

Does the Nothing Phone (4b) support two SIM cards and eSIM?
It takes two physical Nano-SIM cards with 5G support. eSIM is available only on the version sold in Japan, so the versions on this page work with physical SIM cards.

Is the phone waterproof?
It is rated IP64 for dust and water splashes and was tested for immersion in water up to 25 cm for up to 20 minutes. It is not designed for swimming or long use underwater.

What does the Glyph Bar do?
It is a light bar on the back that shows timers, delivery and ride progress, charging status and calls or messages from contacts you choose, without turning on the screen. A red recording light also shows when you are filming.

How long does the battery last and how fast does it charge?
The 8GB + 128GB version has a 5,200mAh battery rated for up to 46 hours of calls, 34 hours of music or 22 hours of video streaming. 33W charging reaches 50% in under 30 minutes, and the phone can charge other devices by cable at 7.5W.

What cameras does it have?
A 50MP main camera with a 1/2.76-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture, OIS and EIS, a 119.5° ultra-wide camera with f/2.2, and a 16MP front camera. Video reaches 4K at 30fps, with 1080p slow motion at 120fps and Dual Video Capture.

How many years of updates will it get?
Nothing OS 4.1 on Android 16 comes with 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches.

What is the Essential Key?
It is a dedicated key that saves screenshots, photos and voice notes to Essential Space, where they can be summarised and turned into to-do lists. Essential Voice and Essential Search add speech-to-text, translation and quick search.

How smooth is the display for gaming?
The 6.77-inch Super AMOLED screen refreshes at up to 120Hz with up to 1000Hz touch sampling, and supported games can run at up to 120fps with help from a 4,400 mm² cooling system.

Which colours are available?
Nothing Phone (4b) comes in White, Black and Blue. Choose the colour and storage you want from the product options before ordering.
