What Are Mobile Phone Activation Fees in Egypt?
As of January 2025, customs and tax fees are applied to mobile phones imported from abroad. These are officially referred to as “Phone Activation Fees.”
These fees are paid once only, calculated at approximately 38.5% of the device’s value, and must be paid through the official "Telephony" app within 90 days of activating the device in Egypt.

Do All Devices on Your Website Include These Fees?

No. At Ennap.com, we provide two clear options depending on your needs:

- Local Warranty Devices: These devices come with fully paid fees, and you won’t need to pay anything extra after purchase.
- International Devices (without local warranty): These may not have their fees paid, but for some products, we offer a fees-paid version at a discounted price.

Will I Need to Pay Anything Later If I Choose a Fees-Paid Device?
No. If you choose the fees-paid version, the price displayed on the website includes all government fees. No additional payments or steps are required.

What’s the Difference Between a Fees-Paid and a Non-Paid Device?
- Fees-Paid: Ready for immediate use in Egypt. No further actions or payments required.
- Not Paid: Works for 90 days only in Egypt, after which you’ll need to pay the activation fee via the Telephony app to avoid service interruption.

How Do I Know If a Device Has the Fees Paid? The fee status is clearly mentioned on each product page—either in the product description or among the available purchase options.

What Is the Value of the Fees?
The fees vary depending on the device model. You can:

Contact us directly to check the fee for a specific device.
Or visit our Help Center to view the official fee values.

Who Sets the Fee Amount, and Can It Change?Fees are set by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority
Each model has a fixed amount, though the government may update values periodically.

How Do I Pay the Fees If I Choose a Device Without Paid Fees?
Fees are paid through the official “Telephony” app:

Download the app.
Enter the IMEI number of your device.
Pay using a bank card or another available payment method.

What Happens If I Don’t Pay the Fees After 90 Days?
Your device’s cellular services (calls, mobile data, SMS) will be suspended. It will only work again after the fee is paid via the app.

Can I Buy the Device Now and Pay the Fees Later?
Yes, you have a legal grace period of 90 days from the date of activation inside Egypt to pay the fee via the Telephony app.

Frequently asked questions

What does international warranty mean?

The product was imported from outside Egypt through an importer, not through the product's local agent.

Why is the warranty period only 100 days?

Imported devices normally come without a warranty, but we give you 100 days to fully test and try the product.

Why doesn't the product come with a one-year warranty?

The product may not be available through a local agent at all, or not at the moment, so it is supplied from abroad with our 100-day warranty to give you peace of mind and the best experience.

When does the warranty start and how is it activated?

The warranty starts on the purchase date and we activate it automatically from that date.

What if the product is damaged by misuse, such as a broken screen, and what about spare parts?

We have a full maintenance department for all products and provide most spare parts for products sold with an international warranty. You can submit a maintenance request here. You can also service the product through the product's agent or other service centers if they have the spare parts.

Product FAQs

What is new in Gen 2 compared with Gen 1?
Gen 2 upgrades the video to 3K Ultra HD and doubles the battery to up to 8 hours, from 4 hours on Gen 1, while keeping the 12MP camera and open-ear speakers.

How does Gen 2 differ from Gen 3?
Gen 3 adds a slimmer frame with adjustable temple tips, a 6-microphone array instead of 5, up to 9 hours of battery instead of 8 and an assignable action button. Both share the 12MP camera with 3K video.

What size is the Ray-Ban Meta Skyler (Gen 2)?
It comes in one Standard frame size: lens width 52 mm, lens height 42 mm, bridge 20 mm, temple length 150 mm and 133 mm from hinge to hinge.

What is the difference between the lens options?
Transitions lenses adapt to the light, turning darker outdoors in sunlight and lighter indoors, so one pair works all day. Polarized lenses cut glare from water, roads and glass for sharper vision in bright sun. Tinted sun lenses (Green) stay dark for outdoor wear. Clear lenses suit indoor and everyday wear. Choose the lens from the product options.

Which phones does it work with?
It pairs with iPhone on iOS 15.2 or later and Android phones on Android 10 or later over Bluetooth 5.3, with Wi-Fi 6 on the glasses, and you set it up through the Meta AI app.

How do I charge the glasses?
Place the glasses in the charging case. A full charge gives up to 8 hours of use, and the case holds up to 48 hours of additional charge. The case charges through USB-C; a USB-C cable is not included, so use any USB-C cable and adapter.

Can I use it with prescription lenses?
Yes. The Skyler frame is prescription-ready from -12.00 to +6.00 total power. It ships with the lenses shown in the selected option, and an optician can fit your prescription lenses in the frame.
