Product Details

The ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5050 OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 pairs an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB GDDR6 on a 128-bit bus, a 2707 MHz boost clock in OC mode and a PCI Express 5.0 interface.

The ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5050 OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 is built around the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 2560 CUDA cores and 421 AI TOPS. It is factory-overclocked: 2707 MHz in OC mode and 2677 MHz as the default boost clock, switchable in the GPU Tweak III software rather than by flashing anything. Memory is 8GB GDDR6 running at 20 Gbps across a 128-bit interface, and the card connects over PCI Express 5.0.

Display output is one HDMI 2.1b output and three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs with HDCP 2.3, driving up to four screens at once and a maximum digital resolution of 7680x4320. DisplayPort 2.1b is the part that matters for a high-refresh monitor bought today, because it carries more bandwidth than the older DisplayPort 1.4 that earlier cards used.

Physically the card measures 268.3 x 120 x 50 mm and occupies 2.5 slots, so measure your case before ordering. Power comes through a single 8-pin connector and the recommended power supply is 550W. This model has no RGB lighting, which suits a build meant to stay visually quiet.

ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5050 OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 Key Features:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 2560 CUDA cores - rated at 421 AI TOPS for the AI-accelerated features games and creative applications increasingly rely on.
8GB GDDR6 on a 128-bit bus at 20 Gbps - the memory headroom that keeps high-resolution textures resident instead of streaming them in mid-scene.
Factory overclocked to 2707 MHz - OC mode out of the box, with 2677 MHz as the default boost clock; you switch between them in ASUS GPU Tweak III.
PCI Express 5.0 interface - and it stays backward compatible, so it works in a PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 motherboard slot.
One HDMI 2.1b output and three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs - with HDCP 2.3 and support for up to four displays at once.
Maximum digital resolution of 7680x4320 - enough headroom for an 8K panel or a multi-monitor wall.
268.3 x 120 x 50 mm across 2.5 slots - the exact figures to check against your case clearance before you order.
550W recommended power supply - through a single 8-pin connector.
No RGB lighting - a clean look for a build that is not meant to draw attention, and one less component to configure.
ASUS GPU Tweak III - clock, fan curve and monitoring from one utility, with the OC and default modes one click apart.

Product FAQs

What power supply do I need?
The recommended power supply for a system built around this card is 550W, based on a fully overclocked GPU and CPU. The card draws power through a single 8-pin connector.

Do I need a power supply with a 16-pin connector?
No. This card uses a single 8-pin PCIe connector, which any standard power supply already has, so there is no 12V-2x6 cable to look for.

Will it fit my case?
The card measures 268.3 x 120 x 50 mm and takes up 2.5 slots. Check your case specification for maximum graphics card length and the number of free expansion slots before ordering - length is the figure that catches most people out.

Does it work in a PCIe 4.0 motherboard?
Yes. The card uses PCI Express 5.0 and the standard is backward compatible, so it runs in a PCIe 4.0 or PCIe 3.0 slot. On an older slot the available bandwidth is lower, but the card works.

How many monitors can I connect?
Four at once. The outputs are one HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1b, with HDCP 2.3 support and a maximum digital resolution of 7680x4320.

What is the difference between OC mode and default mode?
OC mode raises the boost clock from 2677 MHz to 2707 MHz. Both modes are set at the factory and you switch between them inside ASUS GPU Tweak III, with no BIOS flashing involved.

Does it have RGB lighting?
No. This model has no RGB lighting, which keeps the build visually quiet and removes one component to configure.

How is it different from the other ASUS versions of the same GPU?
The graphics processor is the same in every version - what changes is the cooler, the size, the factory clock and the lighting. We carry the RTX 5050 in two lines: this PRIME model with a triple-fan cooler at 268.3 mm and a 2707 MHz OC clock, and the Dual model, which is shorter at 203 mm with two fans, two slots and a 2677 MHz OC clock.

Do I need to install drivers?
Yes. Install the official GeForce driver from NVIDIA after fitting the card. Windows may load a basic display driver on its own, but the full driver is what enables the card's features and the per-game optimisations.

Does it support ray tracing and DLSS?
Yes. This is a GeForce RTX card, so ray tracing and DLSS are supported; which of them a given title actually uses is set from that game's own graphics options.
