The HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation) is a NearLink stylus for HUAWEI MatePad tablets, with 10,000+ pressure levels and magnetic wireless charging for notes and sketching.
Comfortable grip for long notes and sketches
A full lecture of notes or an evening of drawing stays easy on the fingers. The M-Pencil (3rd generation) has a rounded hexagonal body with a skin-soothing coating, so it rests steadily in the hand for long sessions. It comes with one replaceable pen tip, and you can change the tip yourself when it wears.
Low-latency handwriting with NearLink
The ink follows the tip as you write, so notes feel closer to pen on paper. The stylus connects over NearLink, a short-range wireless technology that boosts the signal, reduces latency and keeps interference down. NearLink connection is available on certain MatePad models, and the latency you get depends on the tablet.
10,000+ pressure levels for natural strokes
Press lightly for a fine sketch line and harder for a bold stroke. More than 10,000 pressure sensing levels and a high pressure sampling rate pick up small changes in force, so line thickness follows your hand. The full 10,000+ levels work on certain tablet models, and the result varies by app.
Magnetic pairing and charging on top of the tablet
When you finish, place the pen on the top edge of the tablet and it stays there. On MatePad models with magnetic charging, the M-Pencil (3rd generation) attaches magnetically, pairs and charges wirelessly, with no cable to carry. The MatePad 11.5 (2024) and MatePad 11.5-inch need the HUAWEI M-Pencil charger to work with this stylus.
HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation) Key Features:
- Double tap to erase: Tap the pen body twice to switch between the brush and the eraser, so you fix a word or a line without opening the toolbar. It works in supported apps and can be turned on or off in Settings.
- Colour Capture: Pick a colour from one app and apply it in another, or bring a colour over from a connected HUAWEI phone during Multi-Screen Collaboration. Phones need EMUI 10.0 or later and tablets HarmonyOS 3 or later.
- Take Snippet: Draw a circle around an image to capture it, or hold the tip on an image to pull out its text, then drop it into your notes. Text extraction works in certain apps, languages and fonts.
- Show Comments: When you share your tablet screen in a class or meeting, the pen becomes a laser pointer or whiteboard pen, and your marks appear to viewers in real time. Requires certain tablets running HarmonyOS 4 or later.
- Wide MatePad support: Works with MatePad Pro, MatePad Air, MatePad, MatePad Mini and MatePad Paper models on the official list, including MatePad 11.5 (2025) and MatePad 12 X (2025).
- MateBook support: Also works with MateBook E 2023 and MateBook E Go after the listed PC Manager and firmware updates, and with MateBook 14 Core Ultra on Windows 11 through the M-Pencil package with charger.
- Replaceable tip: The pen tip is replaceable by hand, so a worn tip does not mean replacing the whole stylus, and the writing feel stays consistent over time.
- White finish: A white body that matches the light colours of most MatePad models and keeps a clean look when the pen sits on top of the tablet.
