As of January 2025, customs and tax fees are applied to mobile phones imported from abroad. These are officially referred to as “Phone Activation Fees.”
These fees are paid once only, calculated at approximately 38.5% of the device’s value, and must be paid through the official "Telephony" app within 90 days of activating the device in Egypt.

What Happens If I Don’t Pay the Fees After 90 Days?
Your device’s cellular services (calls, mobile data, SMS) will be suspended. It will only work again after the fee is paid via the app.

Can I Buy the Device Now and Pay the Fees Later?
Yes, you have a legal grace period of 90 days from the date of activation inside Egypt to pay the fee via the Telephony app.

The KIOXIA EXCERIA Plus G2 Portable SSD is a 42 g USB-C drive that reads at up to 1,050 MB per second, made for backups, photos and video you carry from desk to phone to console.

Back up a full photo library or move a finished video project, and the copy is done while you are still choosing the next folder. The KIOXIA EXCERIA Plus G2 reads at up to 1,050 MB per second and writes at up to 1,000 MB per second over USB 3.2 Gen 2 with UASP mode, using KIOXIA BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory. It comes with both a USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to USB-A cable, so a USB-C laptop and an older computer with only USB-A ports both work without an adapter.

It slips into a shirt pocket, a pencil case or the front pocket of a laptop bag, so your files go where you go instead of staying on one desk. The drive measures 72 x 40 x 11.8 mm and weighs 42 g, inside a smooth, rounded aluminum housing.
