What Are Mobile Phone Activation Fees in Egypt?
As of January 2025, customs and tax fees are applied to mobile phones imported from abroad. These are officially referred to as “Phone Activation Fees.”
These fees are paid once only, calculated at approximately 38.5% of the device’s value, and must be paid through the official "Telephony" app within 90 days of activating the device in Egypt.
Do All Devices on Your Website Include These Fees?

No. At Ennap.com, we provide two clear options depending on your needs:

- Local Warranty Devices: These devices come with fully paid fees, and you won’t need to pay anything extra after purchase.
- International Devices (without local warranty): These may not have their fees paid, but for some products, we offer a fees-paid version at a discounted price.
Will I Need to Pay Anything Later If I Choose a Fees-Paid Device?
No. If you choose the fees-paid version, the price displayed on the website includes all government fees. No additional payments or steps are required.
What’s the Difference Between a Fees-Paid and a Non-Paid Device?
- Fees-Paid: Ready for immediate use in Egypt. No further actions or payments required.
- Not Paid: Works for 90 days only in Egypt, after which you’ll need to pay the activation fee via the Telephony app to avoid service interruption.

How Do I Know If a Device Has the Fees Paid? The fee status is clearly mentioned on each product page—either in the product description or among the available purchase options.

What Is the Value of the Fees?
The fees vary depending on the device model. You can:

  • Contact us directly to check the fee for a specific device.
  • Or visit our Help Center to view the official fee values.

Who Sets the Fee Amount, and Can It Change?Fees are set by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority
Each model has a fixed amount, though the government may update values periodically.

How Do I Pay the Fees If I Choose a Device Without Paid Fees?
Fees are paid through the official “Telephony” app:

  1. Download the app.
  2. Enter the IMEI number of your device.
  3. Pay using a bank card or another available payment method.

What Happens If I Don’t Pay the Fees After 90 Days?
Your device’s cellular services (calls, mobile data, SMS) will be suspended. It will only work again after the fee is paid via the app.

Can I Buy the Device Now and Pay the Fees Later?
Yes, you have a legal grace period of 90 days from the date of activation inside Egypt to pay the fee via the Telephony app.

Product Details

The MSI DATAMAG 40Gbps is a magnetic portable SSD with a USB4 port that reads at up to 4,000 MB per second, in an 85 g aluminum body that snaps onto your phone or laptop.

Up to 4,000 MB per second over USB4
Large video projects, RAW photo folders and game libraries move in seconds instead of minutes. The MSI DATAMAG 40Gbps connects over USB4 40Gbps and, at 1TB, reads at up to 4,000 MB per second and writes at up to 3,500 MB per second. A 4GB test file copies in about 1 second over USB4, against about 10 seconds on a 5Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. Real speed depends on the computer, its USB port, the operating system and drivers.

Magnetic portable SSD that stays on your device
Stick one of the two included metal rings on the back of your phone, tablet or laptop lid, and the drive snaps onto it magnetically while you record or copy files, then pulls off when you are done. Two rings come in the box, one black and one white, so you can match your device or set up two devices. An integrated loop on the corner lets you clip or hang the drive on a bag or keyring.

Record ProRes video straight from iPhone
On iPhone 15, 16 and 17 Pro and Pro Max, the DATAMAG 40Gbps works as an external recording drive for Apple ProRes, up to 4K at 120fps on compatible models, so long takes do not fill the phone's own storage. With an iPhone, the drive reads and writes at up to 1,000 MB per second. iPhone and iPad compatibility applies to models with a USB-C port.

Aluminum body sized for a pocket
The drive measures 66 x 66 x 13 mm and weighs 85 g, small enough for a shirt pocket or a camera bag. Its aluminum alloy housing draws heat away from the drive during long transfers, so the drive can keep up its speed through a full day of editing.

MSI DATAMAG 40Gbps Key Features:

  • Long and short USB-C cables included: use the short cable when the drive sits on your phone or laptop, and the long cable when it rests on the desk beside a computer or console.
  • USB-C to A adapter in the box: connect to a computer or console that only has USB-A ports, at the speed that port allows, without buying a separate adapter.
  • Plug and play on many devices: compatible with Windows PCs and laptops, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, cameras and gaming consoles, so one drive moves files between all of them.
  • DATAMAG App for phones: the free app on the App Store and Google Play shows the remaining space on a clear dashboard and backs up or restores thousands of photos and videos with one tap.
  • Room for RAW photos and camera footage: store RAW files from a high-resolution camera or ProRes clips from iPhone on the same drive, ready to open in your editing software.
  • PHISON PS2251-21 controller with 3D NAND: the drive pairs this controller with 3D NAND flash memory and has no moving parts inside, unlike a traditional external hard drive with a spinning disk.
  • Rated for 750 TBW: the 1TB model is rated to write 750 terabytes over its life, which matters if you edit video on the drive or copy large files to it every day.
  • Wide working temperature range: the drive is rated to work from 0 to 70 degrees Celsius and to be stored from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.
