The Xiaomi Blender pairs a 600W motor spinning at 21000rpm with six stainless steel blades and a 1.75L glass jar, so ice and frozen fruit break down in one go.
The blade assembly is the part that decides whether a blender actually works: this one uses six stainless steel blades, four winged and two flat, set at different heights. The winged blades pull food down into the vortex while the flat ones do the fine cutting, which is why a frozen smoothie comes out smooth instead of leaving chunks stuck at the top of the jar.
The jar is soda-lime glass rather than plastic. It does not scratch, cloud or hold onto the smell of garlic and onion the way a plastic jar does after a few months, and it does not deform when you pour in something hot. Capacity is 1.75L, roughly seven cups, which is a full family batch rather than a single serving.
There are 5 speed levels plus a pulse function, so you can go from a gentle mix for batter to full speed for ice, and tap pulse for short bursts when you want a coarse chop instead of a puree. A safety interlock in the lid checks the jar is seated properly before the motor will start.
Cleaning is the usual sticking point with blenders, and here two things help: the swirling motion cleans the inner surface when you run it with water and a drop of soap, and the blade assembly detaches so you can wash it properly instead of working around it.
