What Are Mobile Phone Activation Fees in Egypt?
As of January 2025, customs and tax fees are applied to mobile phones imported from abroad. These are officially referred to as “Phone Activation Fees.”
These fees are paid once only, calculated at approximately 38.5% of the device’s value, and must be paid through the official "Telephony" app within 90 days of activating the device in Egypt.
Do All Devices on Your Website Include These Fees?

No. At Ennap.com, we provide two clear options depending on your needs:

- Local Warranty Devices: These devices come with fully paid fees, and you won’t need to pay anything extra after purchase.
- International Devices (without local warranty): These may not have their fees paid, but for some products, we offer a fees-paid version at a discounted price.
Will I Need to Pay Anything Later If I Choose a Fees-Paid Device?
No. If you choose the fees-paid version, the price displayed on the website includes all government fees. No additional payments or steps are required.
What’s the Difference Between a Fees-Paid and a Non-Paid Device?
- Fees-Paid: Ready for immediate use in Egypt. No further actions or payments required.
- Not Paid: Works for 90 days only in Egypt, after which you’ll need to pay the activation fee via the Telephony app to avoid service interruption.

How Do I Know If a Device Has the Fees Paid? The fee status is clearly mentioned on each product page—either in the product description or among the available purchase options.

What Is the Value of the Fees?
The fees vary depending on the device model. You can:

  • Contact us directly to check the fee for a specific device.
  • Or visit our Help Center to view the official fee values.

Who Sets the Fee Amount, and Can It Change?Fees are set by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority
Each model has a fixed amount, though the government may update values periodically.

How Do I Pay the Fees If I Choose a Device Without Paid Fees?
Fees are paid through the official “Telephony” app:

  1. Download the app.
  2. Enter the IMEI number of your device.
  3. Pay using a bank card or another available payment method.

What Happens If I Don’t Pay the Fees After 90 Days?
Your device’s cellular services (calls, mobile data, SMS) will be suspended. It will only work again after the fee is paid via the app.

Can I Buy the Device Now and Pay the Fees Later?
Yes, you have a legal grace period of 90 days from the date of activation inside Egypt to pay the fee via the Telephony app.

Product Details

The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 pair an 11mm dynamic driver with up to 50dB of active noise cancellation and 44 hours of total battery, in a 5g semi-in-ear shell rated IP54.

Noise cancellation is where cheaper earbuds usually give up, and this is the part Xiaomi pushed hardest. The 50dB figure is the depth, but the number that matters day to day is the range: cancellation stays effective up to 4kHz, which reaches past engine rumble and air conditioning into the band where voices and traffic sit. That is the difference between muffling a bus and actually quietening a carriage full of people.

Sound comes from a single 11mm dynamic driver per side, which is large for a bud this light. With the latest firmware and an LHDC-compatible phone it runs Hi-Res Audio Wireless, so a high-bitrate file arrives without being compressed down to Bluetooth’s usual ceiling. On any other phone it falls back to AAC or SBC and simply works.

Battery is the other practical win: 11 hours from the buds alone with noise cancellation off and 44 hours with the case, or 6.5 and 28 hours with it on. A 10 minute charge puts back about 4 hours of listening, which covers the case where you find them flat on the way out of the door.

For calls there are three microphones with AI noise reduction and wind resistance up to 12m/s, so your voice still carries when you are walking outside. Bluetooth 5.4 handles dual-device connection, meaning the buds stay paired to a laptop and a phone at once and move to whichever one starts playing. In the app there are 5 EQ modes, custom EQ and a Sound ID hearing test that tunes the output to your own ears.

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Key Features:

  • Up to 50dB active noise cancellation — effective up to 4kHz, so it works on voices and traffic rather than only on low engine rumble.
  • 11mm dynamic driver — a large driver for a bud of this weight, which is what gives the low end body without needing volume to compensate.
  • Hi-Res Audio Wireless with LHDC — enabled by firmware update and an LHDC-compatible phone; on other phones it uses AAC or SBC.
  • 11 hours per charge and 44 hours with the case — with noise cancellation off. With it on, 6.5 hours from the buds and 28 hours in total.
  • 10 minute fast charge for about 4 hours of playback — enough to rescue a flat pair before you leave.
  • 3-mic AI call noise cancellation — with wind resistance up to 12m/s, so the person on the other end hears you and not the street.
  • Bluetooth 5.4 with dual-device connection — stay connected to a phone and a laptop together and switch by simply playing on one of them.
  • 5 EQ modes, custom EQ and Sound ID — a short hearing test builds a profile and the buds adjust the output to match it.
  • IP54 rated earbuds — dust and splash resistant for rain and training. The charging case is not rated.
  • 5.0g per earbud with three ear cap sizes — S, M and L are included, and the M caps come fitted.
  • Type-C charging — the cable is in the box.
