The Xiaomi Sound Play is an 18W portable Bluetooth speaker with IP68 protection, up to 14 hours of playback, built-in lights and Auracast multi-speaker pairing.
It is a cylindrical speaker of about 415g with a soft rubber strap, sized to hang from a bag, a bike or a hand. Two lights set it apart: an infinity mirror light on top and an ambient light ring at the base with ripple, beat and constant modes, and both can pulse in time with the music.
Inside is an 18W racetrack full-range speaker backed by external and internal passive radiators, which add depth and punch to the bass rather than letting it thin out. The frequency range runs from 75Hz to 20kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 95dB or higher.
Bluetooth 6.0 keeps the connection fast and stable up to 25 metres. Pair a second Sound Play for left and right stereo, or use Auracast to play the same music on up to 100 compatible Xiaomi speakers at once, with the lights in sync. A built-in microphone handles hands-free calls from your phone.
The 2600mAh battery gives up to 14 hours of playback at 40 percent volume with the lights off, and charges at 5V 2A. With an IP68 dust and water rating, rain, splashes and poolside use are all part of normal use.
