The Xiaomi Smart Desktop Air Circulation Fan (model BPLDS10DM) is a small air circulator for a desk, a bedside table or a shelf that still moves air through a whole room. Its round base is 20 cm across, about the area of half an A4 sheet and 58% smaller than the base of the Xiaomi Smart Standing Air Circulation Fan. At 2.0 kg with a rear handle, it is easy to carry from the office to the bedroom.

Unlike a regular desk fan that only cools the person in front of it, an air circulation fan pushes a concentrated stream of air across the room to keep it moving. This one delivers 1180 cubic metres per hour of airflow, a wind speed of 5 m per second and an air circulation range of 10 m. Xiaomi calculates that it can circulate the air of a 20 square metre room with a 2.8 m ceiling in about 3 minutes.

Automatic 3D air distribution combines 120° horizontal oscillation (60° to each side) with 100° vertical oscillation (90° up and 10° down), so air reaches the corners and the ceiling instead of one spot. Separate buttons on the base turn each direction on or off, and the Xiaomi Home app lets you narrow the sweep to 30°, 60° or 90° in either direction.

Because it moves air around the whole room, the fan works well alongside other appliances. Place it near a heater to spread warm air evenly, next to a humidifier or dehumidifier to distribute their effect, or with an air conditioner to spread cool air faster. Pointed at an open window or a door, it helps push stale air out and draw fresh air in.

Power enters through a Type-C port. Use the included 18W power adapter at home, or connect a power bank with QC or PD fast charging, at least 18W output and a 9V or 12V output voltage, when there is no socket nearby. The fan has no built-in battery, and a weaker power bank may limit it to 2 speed levels in direct breeze mode without natural breeze, or may not run it at all.

A stepless DC inverter motor on double ball bearings keeps the airflow strong yet quiet and stable. At level 1 in direct breeze mode without oscillation, noise is as low as 28.4dB(A), quiet enough for sleeping or working next to it.

Choose direct breeze for steady airflow or natural breeze for a softer, varying flow. The fan has 4 speed levels on its buttons, and the Xiaomi Home app over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi offers 100 speed levels in direct breeze mode, oscillation angles, remote on and off, and switches for the indicators and beep. Six buttons on the base control standby, mode and speed, horizontal oscillation, vertical oscillation, a 1 to 4 hour timer and the indicator lights, and the fan remembers your last mode, oscillation and speed.

How does it differ from the Xiaomi Smart Tower Fan 2?
The Xiaomi Smart Tower Fan 2 is a floor-standing tower fan, 1014 mm tall, with 150° horizontal oscillation and 24W rated power. The Smart Desktop Air Circulation Fan is a compact 334 mm, 2.0 kg air circulator rated at 18W that oscillates both horizontally (120°) and vertically (100°) to move air around the whole room, and it can also run from a power bank through its Type-C port.

Can it run from a power bank?
Yes. Connect a power bank with QC or PD fast charging, at least 18W output and a 9V or 12V output voltage to the Type-C port. Xiaomi measured up to 26 hours at level 1 without oscillation with a Xiaomi 33W Power Bank 10000mAh Pocket Edition Pro. Does it come with a remote control?
No. A remote control is not part of the package. You control the fan from the buttons on its base or from your phone with the Xiaomi Home app.

Is the height adjustable?
No. The fan has a fixed height of 334 mm. Vertical oscillation of up to 100° sends the air upward and downward, and Xiaomi advises against moving the fan head by hand.

How do I clean it?
Unplug the fan, remove the grille screws with a screwdriver (not included), then take off the front grille, fan blade and rear grille. Wash them with water or a mild neutral detergent and let them dry completely before refitting. Do not rinse the motor, the fan blade knob or the button panel.
