For vlogs, travel and family videos, a pocket camera on a three-axis gimbal keeps walking shots steady with no rig to carry. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P pairs a 20mm lens on a 1-inch sensor with a 60mm portrait lens at f/1.8 and records 4K at 240fps, and its Vlog Combo adds a DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter. The Insta360 Luna Ultra has a Leica Summicron 1-inch main lens at f/1.8 with 8K Dolby Vision recording and a 1/1.3-inch telephoto lens with up to 12x zoom, and its 2-inch OLED screen detaches to work as a wireless remote up to 20 metres away. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 and the Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo complete the choice.

For sport, water and rides, the rugged models are on our action cameras page. The DJI Osmo 360 II and the Insta360 X6 record 8K 360 video, so you choose the angle after the ride. The DJI Osmo Action 6 is waterproof to 20m without a case, and the Insta360 GO Ultra weighs about 53g and clips magnetically to a cap for hands-free point-of-view clips. A wireless microphone and a selfie stick or tripod complete the kit.

For online classes, meetings and streaming from a desk, a webcam sits on top of the screen and connects to the computer over USB. The Logitech Brio 500 records Full HD 1080p, corrects the light automatically and keeps you centred with auto-framing, with two noise-reducing microphones and a privacy shutter. The Logitech C920 Pro records 1080p at 30fps through an autofocus glass lens with stereo microphones and a 78-degree view, the Logitech Brio 100 records 1080p with a privacy shutter, and the Logitech C270 records 720p HD for everyday calls.

To watch your home from your phone, a security camera records day and night and alerts you when a person appears. The Xiaomi Smart Camera C200 turns 360 degrees, records Full HD 1080p with infrared night vision and AI human detection, and saves video to a microSD card. The EZVIZ TY1 Pro records in 2K, pans 360 degrees and tilts 133 degrees, follows movement on its own and sees up to 10 metres in the dark. Outdoors, the eufy SoloCam S230 runs on solar power from 2 hours of direct sunlight a day and switches on a 600-lumen spotlight when it detects motion, the eufyCam 2C Pro kit lasts up to 180 days per charge, and the eufy Video Doorbell C210 shows who is at the door with two-way audio.
