MSI PRO MP242 E14C is a 23.8-inch Full HD IPS monitor with 144Hz, 1ms MPRT and AMD FreeSync, a USB-C input with 15W Power Delivery, HDMI and two built-in speakers.
The MSI PRO MP242 E14C is built around a USB-C connection. One cable from a compatible laptop, tablet or phone carries the picture through DisplayPort Alt Mode at up to 1920 x 1080 and 144Hz, and the same port supplies up to 15W of Power Delivery. An HDMI 2.0 input sits next to it for a desktop PC or a games console.
The 23.8-inch IPS panel shows 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) with 178-degree viewing angles and an anti-glare surface, so text and colours stay consistent from the side and reflections from windows stay low. MSI's PerfectEdge design adds slim bezels on all four sides with a 92% screen-to-body ratio, which keeps the gaps narrow in a multi-monitor setup.
For a laptop desk, the single cable replaces a separate video lead and keeps the setup clean: plug in, and the screen extends or mirrors your desktop. The 15W supply suits topping up a phone or a small device, while most laptops still need their own charger connected alongside.
A 144Hz refresh rate with a 1ms MPRT response (4ms GtG) makes scrolling, window movement and fast games look smoother than on a standard 60Hz screen. AMD FreeSync matches the refresh rate to your graphics card anywhere from 48 to 144Hz to reduce tearing and stutter.
The panel delivers 300 nits, a 1500:1 contrast ratio and 16.7 million colours (8-bit, 6-bit + FRC), with colour coverage of 110% sRGB, 86% DCI-P3 and 85% Adobe RGB (CIE 1976), and it is HDR Ready for HDR content. MSI lists PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, phones and laptops as compatible sources.
For long hours, the display is TÜV certified, MSI EyesErgo with anti-flicker technology helps reduce eye strain, and Eye-Q Check offers quick eye self-tests, a posture guide and break reminders. The stand tilts from -5 to 20 degrees, and firmware updates install through the USB-C connection.
A 100 x 100 mm VESA mount takes a monitor arm or wall bracket, or an MSI Cubi series or other mini PC on the back. With MSI Power Link over HDMI CEC, a connected MSI desktop turns on with the monitor's power button. The monitor runs from an external 12V power adapter, and a Kensington lock slot is provided.
Two 2W speakers cover video calls and everyday sound, and a headphone output is there for private listening. An accessory slot keeps small items within reach, and the MSI Display Kit app arranges window layouts and colour modes from your computer.
